Assistant Fashion Designer - Knitwear & Woven Technical Design

About the Role
We are seeking a talented Assistant Fashion Designer specializing in knitwear and woven technical design to join our creative team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with creative vision to support the development of our collections from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical flat sketches using industry-standard computer software
- Assist in developing seasonal collections for both knitwear and woven categories
- Prepare technical packages including construction details, measurements, and specifications
- Collaborate with creative director and production manager on design development and modifications
- Support the product development process through various stages
- Participate in fittings and provide technical input for garment improvements
- Maintain design libraries and archives

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in technical design, specifically in knitwear and woven categories
- Proficient in creating digital flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator or similar software
- Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, and technical specifications
- Experience with knitwear techniques, structures, and terminology
- Knowledge of fabric properties, construction, and performance
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication abilities and team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of textile innovation and sustainable practices
- Understanding of global fashion market trends
- Experience working with overseas manufacturers
