Distribution Supervisor needed for a busy Manufacturer in Paris, KY

1st shift : 8:00am-4:30pm

Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: $25-$27

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Distribution Supervisor to lead and oversee our distribution center operations in Kentucky. This role is pivotal in ensuring an efficient, organized, and safe workflow within the shipping and receiving department.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage daily distribution center activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor distribution team members, ensuring performance goals are met. Conduct order and picklist audits prior to shipments.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, manage stock levels, and conduct periodic inventory audits.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations and ensure all employees adhere to proper forklift and equipment operation guidelines.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Organize shifts and staffing schedules to optimize workflow and ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Corporate Logistics Coordinator to align distribution efforts with broader company objectives.
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues such as shipping delays, inventory discrepancies, and damaged goods.
• Shipping Documentation: Prepare and manage key shipping documents, including:
• Bills of lading (including master bills for multiple orders)
• Daily shipping logs
• Freight invoices and system data entry (PRO# notes, weight, etc.)
• Return Goods Authorizations (RGA) and disposition coordination with Customer Service
• Special account documentation
• UPS shipping procedures and documentation

Receiving & Quality Control: Oversee raw material receiving (e.g., steel) and ensure proper packaging and identification of parts.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Arrange necessary maintenance for vehicles and forklifts and oversee the organization of warehouse and receiving areas.

Inventory Reporting: Communicate material inventory updates with the Production Scheduler and ensure daily submission of scrap and cut sheets.

Cycle Counts & Audits: Assist in routine and annual inventory counts to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 4-6 years of experience in a lead role within shipping, receiving, or distribution.
• Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, and written communications.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and effectively presenting information.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collect data, assess situations, and make informed decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees, management, vendors, and customers.
• Proficiency in email and phone communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail in reading pick lists, freight documents, and identifying parts.
