Job Description

We are seeking a General Farm worker to join a new state of the art farm in Rural north Herefordshire on a full time, temporary to permanent basis. This is a hands-on manual role working directly with animals providing the best care and welfare. The successful candidate will be offered full training to become an integral part of a small and friendly farm team.

What you can expect:

• Hourly rate - £11.94 per hour – 40 hours per week/Overtime rate paid at £15.88
• 7am – 4pm – Monday – Sunday (candidates must be flexible for additional overtime when required which will include weekends and out of hours cover)
• Temporary to Permanent basis

What you will be doing:

• Performing daily manual activities across the farm, including cleaning equipment, facilities and recording information to ensure the welfare and care of livestock is maintained at all times
• Maintain the wider farm facilities and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
• Adheres to biosecurity and health and safety protocols
• Works effectively with farm managers and other staff to achieve production goals

What we are looking for:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and farm managers
• Basic understanding of health and safety and welfare practices
• A prior background in agricultural work desirable, however candidates with a genuine care and interest in agriculture/ animal welfare will be considered
• Willingness and availability to work as and when required to support the farm operations
