We are looking for a proactive and experienced Manager of Field Application Engineering (FAE) Team to lead a skilled team of Field Application Engineers in the Data Center Business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center solutions, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for customer success. This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively bridge the gap between customers and internal engineering teams, providing technical guidance, support, and innovative solutions to meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Field Application Engineers to deliver best-in-class technical support and solutions for data center customers.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide mentorship to ensure continuous skill development and team growth.
  • Foster a customer-first mindset, driving a collaborative and problem-solving culture within the team.

Customer Engagement & Technical Support:

  • Act as the primary technical contact for key customers, providing in-depth product knowledge, troubleshooting, and hands-on support during pre-sales and post-sales activities.
  • Lead customer site visits, design reviews, and technical workshops to gather requirements, provide product demonstrations, and offer customized solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers on solution validation, product testing, and issue resolution, ensuring successful implementation and client satisfaction.

Solution Design & Customization:

  • Work closely with the sales and product management teams to understand customer needs and translate them into tailored data center solutions, including power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
  • Guide the FAE team in designing and configuring solutions that align with customer requirements, leveraging expertise in power systems (UPS, PDUs), thermal management (HVAC, liquid cooling), and data center infrastructure.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA-942) in all solution designs.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Oversee the execution of technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to customer requirements and specifications.
  • Manage resources, timelines, and budgets for field support activities, coordinating with internal engineering and manufacturing teams for successful deployments.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including site readiness checklists, risk assessments, and post-installation support plans.

Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement:

  • Serve as the voice of the customer, providing detailed feedback on product performance, usability, and feature requests to the product management and R&D teams.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing products and solutions based on customer feedback and field observations.
  • Lead initiatives for training, process improvements, and the development of technical documentation and best practices.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Field Application Engineering or Technical Support within the data center industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of power systems (UPS, PDUs, busbars) and cooling systems (HVAC, liquid cooling, CRAC units).
  • Proficiency in using electrical and thermal design tools (AutoCAD, ETAP, 6SigmaDCX).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (UL, IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE).
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored technical solutions.
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS), or PMP.
  • Experience working with hyperscaler clients (Google, Meta, AWS) and large enterprise data center environments.
  • Knowledge of edge computing, modular data centers, and sustainable energy initiatives.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a talented team driving innovative solutions in the rapidly growing data center industry.
  • Work with leading-edge technologies and collaborate with top-tier clients.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and professional growth opportunities.
