This is a fulltime hours project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 4 12 months unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the NBC Sports team and be part of a storied brand as a Freelance On Air Graphics Project Manager.  NBC Sports showcases some of the most prestigious sports properties in the world: The Olympics NFL NBA NCAA Football & Basketball NASCAR PGA TOUR USGA Churchill Downs Premier League Tour de France and many more.

The role of the Freelance On Air Graphics Project Manager is to work with show production teams to develop and maintain graphics packages for onair broadcasts. The position deals with all aspects of broadcast graphics creation and distribution from concept & design to versioning QC and final delivery. This role will support both studio and remote productions.

This is a temporary/backfill position with an approximately 4month run beginning February 2025.  The position has the potential to lead to longer engagements as opportunities develop or possibly conversion to staff.

Role Purpose

The Freelance OnAir Graphics Project Manager operates as the logistical hub of our motion graphics projects.

Responsibilities

• Aggregate project information and specifications:
  • Formulate deliverables lists
  • Create job calendars
  • Create budget estimates
• Work with Scheduling and senior management to secure resources to complete the needed work (both internal and external resources)
• Manage the time of the artists ensuring the project stays on calendar
• Collaborate with other inhouse Project Managers to share resources amongst the various overlapping properties
• Collaborate with Art Directors to guide and facilitate the creative process
• Collaborate with showside staff to set expectations timelines and budgets as it pertains to their particular needs shepherding projects from the build phase (preair) to the support phase (onair support)
• Deliver the highestquality graphics on time and on budget ensuring a smooth workflow and punctual delivery of QCd airworthy motion graphics assets

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years experience working at a Network or broadcast design agency

Desired Characteristics

• A high level of organizational and media management skills are necessary for the successful execution of this position
• The successful candidate will work well with others be able to perform various tasks simultaneously and can handle occasional stressful situations as it naturally pertains to live television production
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel) is necessary with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects a significant plus
• Love of sports is a plus
