As a member of the Corporate Management Team, the General Counsel reports to the CEO, with a dotted line to the Board of Directors. The responsibility of the General Counsel will be to provide senior management with effective advice on legal and logical implications of company strategies and their implementation; assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and with the bylaws; protect intellectual property; incorporate into contracts all appropriate rights and protections for the firm while avoiding unnecessary contract obligations; manage the legal function; and manage the work of outside counsel.
