Job Description

Python Developer (Hybrid - Newark, NJ)

  • Full-time / Regular W2 role - No C2C
  • No Visa transfers at this time

Our client is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join their team in Newark, NJ, with a hybrid work schedule (2 days per week onsite). The ideal candidate is a skilled software developer with a proven track record of delivering robust and efficient solutions, strong technical expertise, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications with a primary focus on Python and database solutions.
  • Build and optimize complex database queries while understanding database structures and cloud storage technologies.
  • Develop and manage containerized applications, leveraging Docker and cloud-native orchestration tools like AWS ECS and EKS.
  • Implement and maintain development processes using tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git), issue trackers (e.g., Jira), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and advocate for improvements in development practices.
  • Clearly articulate technical concepts and solutions to team members, stakeholders, and non-technical audiences.
  • Tackle technical challenges with innovative approaches, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience developing software solutions, with a focus on Python and database-driven applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python programming and SQL database management.
  • Familiarity with database architecture and cloud storage strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and managing container-based environments, particularly within AWS ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use development lifecycle tools, including version control, task management, and CI/CD systems.
  • Strong ability to learn independently and address challenges with initiative and ownership.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with a drive to innovate and improve existing processes.
