Job Description

JDP is seeking a third shift Sanitation Supervisor for a major Food manufacturing company located near Sioux City Iowa.

Salary is $76k to 80k with a 10% bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate sanitation conditions to assess risks based on food safety and public health criteria.
  • Utilize innovative problem-solving techniques to address sanitation challenges effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization, including the cleaning company, maintenance crew, and operations team.
  • Monitor and verify the implementation of cleaning procedures to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure the safety of oneself and others in the assigned work area.
  • Prepare media and reagents for microbiological and chemical testing as required.
  • Assess the progress of daily and scheduled cleaning tasks to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Evaluate and ensure proper application of cleaning chemicals and correct usage of equipment, including maintaining an inventory of sanitation supplies.
  • Verify cleaning efficiency using ATP swabbing and implement corrective actions based on swab results.
  • Monitor and manage pre-operational sanitation non-compliances during USDA inspections and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support SQF programs, including Allergen Control, Pest Control, Chemical Control, and Glass and Brittle Plastics protocols.
  • Oversee maintenance items related to sanitation standards and collaborate with maintenance and operations to ensure timely preventive maintenance.
  • Minimize pre-operational deficiencies, non-compliance issues, and downtime in cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Validate chemical compound titrations throughout the shift to ensure proper concentration levels.

Qualifications :

  • Strong understanding of USDA regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation practices.
  • Proven ability to evaluate sanitation conditions analytically and assess risks based on public health criteria.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across various departments and external teams.
  • Experience monitoring and verifying cleaning procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Familiarity with microbiological and chemical testing, including preparation of media and reagents.
  • Ability to implement corrective actions and employ innovative solutions to sanitation challenges.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical applications, equipment usage, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in verifying cleaning efficiency through ATP swabbing and analyzing results to improve processes.
  • Experience supporting SQF programs and ensuring compliance with allergen, pest, and chemical control standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate maintenance and sanitation efforts effectively.
  • Commitment to minimizing deficiencies and improving sanitation processes to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ability to train and supervise sanitation staff to meet quality and safety standards.
