Job Description

Purpose

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for successfully managing all aspects of customer engagements. A key focus will be on providing high-quality implementation with exceptional customer satisfaction through expectation management, proactive communication, and close management of issues/risks. This role will lead a cross-functional team including technical interface consultants, expert professional service consultants, and technical systems consultants. The Senior Project Manager works with development, product management, application engineers, and sales to plan, control, and direct service delivery projects. Senior Project managers are also responsible for leading process improvement initiatives across the Project Management team and mentoring other Project Managers. The Senior Project Manager regularly exercises discretion and judgment related to matters of significance while performing the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Essential Functions:

• Owns, develops, and manages project plans for multiple large-scale implementations (including concurrent releases), manages timely completion of project deliverables, and coordinates all aspects of project delivery. This includes project timeline, scope, task assignments, schedule, risks, issues, dependencies and change control management.

• Sets and manages project expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders. This includes providing leadership and directing all members of project teams to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones.

• Manages weekly or bi-weekly team meetings, ensuring team members clearly understand their respective deliverables, ensuring schedules and milestone delivery dates are adhered to, and working closely with senior management to address project risks and issues.

• Identify and document risks and issues, solve problems, recommend improvement opportunities and create effective actions plans throughout the project by facilitating meetings, discussions, decision making and conflict resolution.

• Operates at a leadership level and effectively interfaces with executive management to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to communicate complex project scenarios clearly and concisely.

• Provides regular status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues.

• Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative ideas for improving the product delivery process

• Works closely with the Product Development and Services project management teams, ensuring product delivery schedules closely align to development and service delivery requirements.

• Recommends and reviews documentation to support standardization across all stakeholders in the product delivery and services processes.

• Collaborates with teams across the Clinisys organization to ensure product challenges are documented, deliverables are met, and client handoffs are seamless.

• Drives continual process improvement in the Project Management and other implementation teams.

• Mentors Associate Project Managers and Project Managers in leadership skills, influencing, and adherence to standard practices

• Partners with Program Managers and Project Management Leadership to identify challenges and propose resolutions.

Skills needed to be successful

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, MS Office and standard office equipment

• Demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes with internal and external constituents as part of driving progress on implementation engagements

• Proficient in analytical skills as evidenced by the ability to solve problems, identify improvement opportunities, and create effective action plans during the performance of assigned tasks

• Proficiency in project and portfolio management principles, practices, tools, and processes

• Demonstrated ability and experience in managing multiple and concurrent projects in a matrix setting

• Experience in communicating effectively with staff and customers, both verbally and in writing, including working with distributed teams and communicating complex project scenarios clearly and concisely

• Proficient in a collaborative style with ability to operate at a leadership level and effectively interface and communicate with executive management

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to prioritize one’s own workload, work independently and autonomously, work with a project team in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output

• Solid knowledge of laboratory workflows, project management methods, practices, tools and techniques

Required Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, technology or laboratory related field or equivalent experience

• 5 years project or program management experience overseeing the development and delivery of software solutions, including large projects encompassing hundreds of tasks, multiple and competing resources, and strict deadlines

• 5 years’ experience partnering with key client stakeholders at the director level or above

• PMP or PRINCE2 Certification or ability to obtain certification within 2 years of employment.

Preferred Experience & Education

• Previous experience in hospital or environmental laboratories

• LIMS implementation project management experience

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a normal or remote office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Up to 25% travel may be required.

• Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours; (if applicable use this)

• Travel to client sites that can pose risks associated with healthcare organizations.

• May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $84,400 - $114,400 annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
